The Dart10k is a challenging yet stunning open water swim, taking participants on a 10-kilometer journey along the River Dart in Devon. Starting in the historic town of Totnes, swimmers follow the river to the Greenway Estate, completing the swim surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Although the swim covers a long distance, the current in the River Dart is often a helpful force, working with you as you swim downstream, making it easier than swimming a standard 10k.
The current gives swimmers a natural boost, allowing you to cover the distance with a bit less effort compared to swimming in still water, though it still presents its own challenges.
Organized by the charity Level Water, which provides swimming lessons for children with disabilities, the event allows participants to choose between a Suits (wetsuit) or Skins (no wetsuit) category. Not only does this event offer a unique and rewarding swim for swimmers of all levels, but it also raises money for a fantastic cause.
Participants are supported throughout the course by lifeguards and volunteers, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Whether you're tackling your first open water swim or are a seasoned swimmer, the Dart10k promises an unforgettable experience, enhanced by the current and the chance to make a difference for young swimmers across the country
Not for the faint-hearted however this swimrun has it all. Swims of up to 2km, pristine trails, uninhabited islands, 10 islands, potential for seals to cheer you on, some of the best view points on Scilly. There really is nothing else like this event!
