We don't see ourselves as just a swimming version of the running app. Swimming is a very different sport and we know it inside out. So we're aiming to build the best swimming app, by swimmers, for swimmers. We're building something we'd train with ourselves, week in week out.
Swimming is a highly technical sport and to be a super smooth and efficient swimmer, you need excellent technique.
We built Catch to do what Runna does for running, but with some added extras.
So we have the personalised training plans, which factor in a number of your personal attributes, as well as your training schedule and goals. But then we also include technique videos to help you improve your skill level in the water, as becoming a faster swimmer is not just about racking up distance in the pool on a regular basis.
But thatâs not all, your video course is completely aligned with your training plan, so youâll be training the skills youâll be learning on the video, with drills in the pool. The drills help you learn specific movements or skills required for silky smooth technique. Then you remove the drill, and keep the skill.
At some point you might want a person to analyse your technique either by video or at pool side, but weâve found that almost all swimmers can make huge improvements with this combination of remote learning and carefully tailored training plans.
Take James for example, heâs a busy guy so he only opted to jump in the pool once a week, but after just 5 weeks of training with Catch we helped him knock 30 seconds off his 400m time and he felt way less tired at the end of it.
